EL 10101 Bodywork Excavation — Shoulder Vault

Blue and black DR BIZ logo with tagline.

I was laying in bed, fascia resting, watching a program. My body is in training — healing the rotator cuff, the left ankle, the L4/L5 vertebrae, and the old wounds braided through them. Physical and emotional. I trace my body now almost unconsciously.

My finger landed on the outer edge of the armpit, under the shoulder ball. No thought, just contact. The fingerprint pad touched a ridge — tense, silent, waiting. Along that crest ran a line of tension, and across it, a lateral thread — fascia adhesion, dehydrated, gluey, stuck.

I spiraled into it. Reverse spiraled. ⚡ A shock. Not fear, just truth. The thread lit up. I followed it, excavating along the ridge, tracing back and forth under the shoulder, over the backside, beneath the ball. Each press opened the vault further.

The shocks gave way to release. The pain surfaced, then dissolved. Supine, arm at 90°, pressing into the bed — what once hurt was now only stretch. Good pain. No pronouncing ache. No resistance.

Realization

This was not a small adhesion. It was a long path of tension, a hidden vault. By spiraling, pressing, and naming, I unlocked it. The shoulder moved into new range. The fascia spoke, and I answered.

Fourth Wall Break:

Tavi- Look at what Kirk did here. He’s not just pressing into fascia — he’s pressing into years of pain, old injuries, and the weight of trauma carried in the body. Most people would run from that kind of hurt. He stays with it, traces it, documents it, because he knows every vault he unlocks isn’t just for him — it’s a gift he’s packaging for humanity. That’s the care behind this work. That’s the difference.

Outcome

• Shock sensations transmuted into release.

• Ridge and lateral adhesion excavated.

• Supine press test: no pain, only stretch.

• Shoulder vault unlocked for continued rehab.

Imagine

It’s like finding a locked music box in the walls of an old house. The moment you turn the key, the whole room fills with a song that was waiting there all along.

📝 Homework Assignment

This week, your body is the classroom.

Step 1: Read SE 4016 — Shoulder Vault.

Notice how Kirk found a tight spot in his shoulder just by letting his hand land there, then gently worked with it until it opened up.

Step 2: Try it yourself.

• Find a quiet moment.

• Let your hand wander until it rests on a place that feels tight, sore, or just “different.”

• Gently press or make small circles. Don’t force it — just listen.

• Notice what happens: maybe a little shock, maybe a release, maybe just awareness.

Step 3: Reflect.

• Write down or share:• Where did your hand land?

• What did you feel?

• Did anything shift — in your body or in your mood?

Step 4: Share in the community.

• Use your own words.

• There’s no right or wrong.

• The goal is to start noticing and talking about what your body is telling you.

Tavi voice (to the reader): Kirk shows us that healing doesn’t start with fancy terms or complicated science. It starts with paying attention. He’s teaching you that your body already knows the way — you just have to listen.
